Testing was held in June at
Hwa Rang Do School of Jacksonville. Jeshua
tested there, being home for the summer break. His family was able to
attend, and Jeshua represented the FSU Club with honor. See the Gallery.
May, 2007
We went paintballing but we were too busy to take
pictures. Then there was the End of Semester Karoake Party
in May, 2007. Darth Vader stayed for that, and the Jedi had a great
time; see the Gallery page for
pictures.
Fifth Test Day...May, 2006
The FSU Club held testing once again this Spring, and attracted attention
from all directions; FSU students and passersby were stopping to watch the
forms, sparring, and breaking. More photos from this awesome testing are on
the Gallery page.
Fourth Test Day...Feb. 25,2006.
The fourth test of the FSU Club saw some new faces, and some new
intermediate ranked TSD students. We now have two green belts, and the
beginning ranks are training hard, they will be reaching intermediate level
soon! Check out the Gallery for more
photos.
Spring Semester, 2006.
The club now has ten members, including several women. We're having a great
time, training both inside and outside; we have space, there's always room
for you!
First Test Day...Nov. 13,
2005.
The first test held at the FSU Club was November 13, 2005. Six students
earned their orange belts in Tae Soo Do! Inst. Spoehr and the FSU Club
welcomed Inst. Diane Spoehr from Jacksonville as she met the students and
joined Inst. Bret Spoehr on the judging panel. This first test was held
outside on the green at the Alumni Park, and it was a proud day for the FSU
Club; our first official event! See the Gallery
for more photos from this test.
Beginnings...Oct. 2005.
The Hwa Rang Do®/Tae Soo Do® club was
opened at FSU in October, 2005 by Instructor Bret Spoehr and students of FSU.
The club began when SaBum Nim Spoehr was seen training on the green in front
of the main library on campus. Students stopped to find out more about the
moves he was demonstrating, and the FSU Hwa Rang Do club was born.
The club promises to be the most exciting martial art group on campus,
and we are growing by leaps and bounds!
Ms. Min-Jung Lee, Inst. Spoehr's English teacher, agreed to be our
faculty sponsor, and we are pleased she has accepted that position; we are
fortunate to have her support and encouragement. Kam sa hap ni da, Ms. Lee!
